Nadi Mahotsav 2025 was our response to a simple but urgent truth – no river can be restored without its people. As the first-ever river festival in Pune, we envisioned Nadi Mahotsav as a powerful public moment to rebuild the city’s relationship with the Mula Mutha River and place citizens at the centre of its rejuvenation. Co-created by our youth platform, Yuva For Action, in partnership with the Pune Municipal Corporation, the festival brought together over 3,000 citizens along with NGOs, Corporates, Colleges and Government officials on 30th November 2025 to take united action for the river. The festival hosted one of Pune’s largest river clean up drives as well as students led rallies and street plays, cultural performances by citizens and NGOs engaged directly with the public on environmental action. Nadi Mahotsav was not just an event. It was the beginning of a people-led river movement for Pune.
